The Flying Dutchman: Gran Teatre del Liceu

About the Event

Be seduced by a meeting of fantasy and reality as acclaimed director Phillip Stölzl tells the tale of a seaman doomed to sail forever, unless he finds a faithful woman to be his wife.

A stellar cast, lead by Thomas Johannes Mayer as the Dutchman, sees Emma Vetter and Anja Kampe share the role of Senta. Fast‐rising conductor Oksana Lyniv makes her Wagnerian debut with this production. Stölzl reimagines the story, setting the action in the library of Daland's mansion, where Senta's daughter is fascinated by the tale of the Flying Dutchman.
