The Black Domino: Opéra Comique

About the Event

Escape life's constraints for one night, like Angèle, Auber's heroine, who leaves the convent for one last night of freedom, disguised in a black cape and domino, or half‐mask.

Predictably for a comic opera, the best‐laid plans go awry, but all ends happily with most characters getting their just desserts, if not, perhaps, quite what they though they wanted! Patrick Davin returns to the Opéra Comique to work his restorative magic on another of Auber's collaborations with Eugene Scribe, following his success with La Muette de Portici in 2012.
