Tailleferre, Grieg, Boulanger: Soup Concert

About the Event

Spend Friday lunchtime with the music of two of France's greatest female composers. Royal Stockholm Philharmonic violinist Lola Torrente is joined by French pianist Sarah Margaine for a concert that includes works by Germaine Tailleferre and Lili Boulanger.

The only female member of Les Six, Germaine Tailleferre's work was inevitably influenced by the turbulent early decades of the 20th Century, whilst the prodigious musical talent of Lili Boulanger, first female winner of the 'Prix de Rome' at only 19 years of age was prematurely cut off by illness. Similarly groundbreaking was the work of Edvard Grieg, blending folk and classical music in unprecedented ways.

Menu: Red lentil soup with potatoes and thyme, served with chorizo and sour cream.
