The iconic Sydney Opera House is one of Australia's most famous architectural landmarks. Completed in 1973, the lively performing arts center is situated on scenic Bennelong Point on Sydney’s waterfront.

Danish architect Jørn Utzon conceived a unique structure, with a series of shell‐like tiled roofs above glass walls and pink granite. The two largest performance spaces in the Sydney Opera House complex stand side by side: the Concert Hall, with its impressive 10,000‐pipe organ, and the Joan Sutherland Theater, which is home to Opera Australia.

The Sydney Opera House was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
