Susanna Moncayo: the tango of poets

About the Event

Susanna Moncayo, the great voice of Argentine music, magnifies the scores with this warm poetry typical of her native country.

Of course, Astor Piazzolla is one of the great geniuses of the 20th century, bringing tango into the universal heritage. But as brilliant as his art is, he must not make us forget that other admirable artists contributed to the development of this typically Argentine art. The great Aníbal Troilo had his bandoneon sung in memorable compositions, also included in the repertoire. And of course there was Carlos Gardel!

Anibal Troilo : La ultima curda…
Astor Piazzolla : Balada para mi muerte, Chiquilin de Bachin, Los pájaros perdidos…
Carlos Gardel : Sus ojos se cerraron….
On poems by Catulo Castillo, Horacio Ferrer, Alfredo le Pera, Homero Manzi…
