Stockhausen's Donnerstag aus Licht: Opéra Comique
About the Event
Prepare to be astonished by Stockhausen's magnum opus. Written to be part of the 'Light' cycle, 'Thursday' is the tale of Michael, boy, man, and archangel.
Commanding huge forces, amplified by the addition of recorded sound, and visual projections, 'Thursday' offers a theatrical and musical experience that begins before the audience enters the theatre, and concludes after patrons have left. Seldom performed, due to its demands, this is a rare opportunity to experience one of contemporary opera's greatest works.
N.B. This performance will be given in German, with surtitles.
