Special Offer: Chœur de Paris: Khmer sacred danses and classical music at Eglise de la Madeleine

About the Event

Sacred danses and sacred music, an artistic union bringing a universal message of harmony and peace between peoples.

'Mayura', a unique show of sacred Khmer danses performed by artists from 'Tep Monorom', upon classical music conducted by Till Aly, with Chœur de Paris. Mayura narrates the mythical epic of peacocks, birds with magical powers in South‐Asia. It is also built as an allegory that tackles the subject of reconstruction and transmission.
In this show, the Occident and the far East join, frontiers and distances are abolished, artistic languages are combined to form a unique one. It is designed as a dialogue between two cultures and different continents, where art can find a common expression space.
The choreography of the show will evoke the history of Cambodia during the second half of XXe century.
For this unique show, Choeur de Paris and the 'Tep Monorom' School of classical khmer danses join their talent in aid of the 'Padouma' association, which carries out humanitarian missions in Cambodia. Its project 'Water is life' allows to finance access to drinking water for Cambodian people who are deprived of it.
