Sitkovetsky Trio in Beethoven's Triple Concerto

About the Event

Relish the unusual programming for which conductor Christoph Poppen is renowned. The German conductor leads the Netherlands Philharmonic in Mendelssohn's 'Reformation' Symphony, and brings the young, but already acclaimed, Sitkovetsky Trio to provide a chamber‐music centre to an orchestral concert.

Beethoven's Triple Concerto functions as a Piano Trio, yet makes concerto‐level demands of each of its three musicians, treating them as soloists of equal importance. Trained at the Yehudi Menuhin School, the Sitkovetsky Trio have the marked advantage of already being an established ensemble, rather than the group of celebrated individual soloists this piece often brings together. Sibelius' 'Finlandia' completes this varied program.
