Salzburger Marionettentheater: Fidelio by Ludwig van Beethoven
About the Event
For over a hundred years, the marionettes of the Salzburger Marionettentheater have enchanted audiences with their playful versions of the great operas. To celebrate the 250th birthday of Beethoven, the puppets will bring to life the German grandmaster’s opera Fidelio. This opera tells the story of the spirited Leonore, who disguises herself as the prison guard Fidelio. Her mission is to rescue her husband Florestan from prison, where he awaits trial. Director Thomas Reichert, who has previously made a popular marionette version of Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne, promises a fairytale Fidelio for young and old alike!
