The Third Piano Concerto, which Ries composed in Russia in 1812, is characterized by overflowing ideas, a deep spirit and Beethoven‐like effects. Music as a force of nature: a highly virtuosic work that calls for an energetic pianist like the Romanian Alexandra Dariescu. Nature is also in the foreground when the Tonkünstler Orchestra and conductor Ruth Reinhardt take on the overture to Jacques Offenbach's 'Rheinfeen' and Antonín Dvořáks fifth symphony in F major, which is an exciting walk through the Bohemian landscape.
