The Annunziata Historic Building
Perched high above the Mediterranean, this exquisite miniature Romanesque architectural gem is one of the fabled Amalfi coast's iconic buildings. Built in the late 13th Century, the Annunziata passed through several noble families, eventually coming to the possession of noted botanist Sir Nevile Reid. Reid added significantly to the gardens, and laid the groundwork for the buildin'g return to its historic roots.
Visitors must climb over 90 stairs on foot to reach the building, with its double domes, but those who make the ascent are rewarded by a building of refined elegance and concerts featuring acclaimed musicians, often as part of the renowned Ravello Festival.
