Concert appearance by Radu Lupu are rare and treasured occasions. Gustavo Gimeno joins the pianist and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra for this performance featuring Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1.

Schumann's jubilant “Spring Symphony”, written during the first happy years of his marriage with his beloved Clara, is also on the program. Prior to this sunny symphony, Gimeno conducts an exciting work by Richard Rijnvos with the motto “divided we fall, united we dance”.
