Quiroga Quartet: Debussy’s long shadow

About the Event

Behind Debussy’s long shadow hides a thought‐provoking musical offer of the Quiroga Quartet who bring us four pieces by composers who took the French composer as their source of inspiration.

They follow an emotive path which leads from their compatriot Maurice Ravel and the Spanish composer Joaquín Turina, who met him on his journey to Paris, to pupils from a different time and place such as Alberto Ginastera and Rodolfo Halffter. They will play Halffter’s Ocho tientos para cuarteto de cuerdas which was commissioned and first performed at the Granada Festival in 1973.
