Allow yourself to be overwhelmed by the majestic warmth of the cello — a characteristic enhanced by the playing of star Dutch cellist Quirine Viersen, as she joins Andrey Boreyko and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic on the Konserthuset platform to play Saint‐Saëns' luscious Cello Concerto No. 1.

Paired with Elgar's 'Enigma Variations' and the bell‐like voices of Victoria Borisova‐Ollas' 'Angelus', the Cello Concerto exploits the instrument's range and possibilities to the fullest, placing the many colors and textures of the cello at the center of the work.
