Puer Natus Est: Christmas Concert in Notre-Dame de Paris
About the EventClose
This performance of Medieval music at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame evokes Christmas night. The processional chants of the shepherds approaching the newborn, in an atmosphere of grace and joy.
While the Cathedral of Notre-Dame was the center of development of polyphonic music in the Middle Ages, other cathedrals saw the continuous growth of forms of monophonic music, such as tropes and liturgical drama. These traditions will be represented in this festive holiday performance.
The reduced ticket price is available with proper ID for students and unemployed people.
Accompanied children under the age of 15 enjoy free admission, but pay 2 Euros seat reservation. Seating is limited.
Witness the grandeur of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral without spending the day standing in line. A concert at this world-famous landmark is the only opportunity to experience the breathtaking cathedral without the flow of bustling tourists. Notre-Dame de Paris attracts more visitors than any other church in the world, but during the evening concerts, only ticket-holding audience members are admitted to enjoy the beautifully lit interior.
