Portraits of a Composer: Bartók & Brahms

About the Event

Explore the wider musical worlds of two great composers. Acclaimed conductor James Feddeck leads the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, and celebrated American pianist Nicholas Angelich, in works by Bartók and Brahms.

Bartók's 'Divertimento for strings' was the composer's final work in Europe before emigrating to America, and pays tribute to the traditions and structures of the Old World. Brahms' immense Second Piano Concerto utilises unusual keys, and late‐introduced themes to surprising effect.
