Piano Recital with András Schiff: Schubert

In his first concert, the Artist in Residence Sir András Schiff plays works by Franz Schubert on an excellently restored historical grand piano.

Sir András Schiff owns a fortepiano from around 1820, which comes from Franz Brodmann's manufactory in Vienna. It is on permanent loan to the Beethoven Haus in Bonn and, together with the artist, brings the sound culture and intimate atmosphere of the Schubertiaden to the Kleiner Saal — at such informal gatherings of Schubert's music‐loving friends the sonatas played today were also performed.
