Philippe Manoury, Kein Licht: New Work at Opéra Comique

About the Event

Kein Licht is based on a text by Nobel Prize‐winning author Elfriede Jelinek. Philippe Manoury and Nicolas Stemann created a thinkspiel that interrogates the place of human life in the face of technology.

The anger and fear expressed in Jelinek's writing after the catastrophe in Fukushima, Japan are expressed through music. Composed and spontaneous, mixing acoustic and digital sounds, Kein Licht explores new forms of musical theater.

In German, with French surtitles.
