Philippe Bianconi: Chopin, Debussy, Schumann
About the Event
Versatile master Philippe Bianconi flexes his technical and expressive skill, demonstrating once again his status as a major figure in the piano scene.
Mysteries of relations between geniuses: If Chopin entertained friendly relations with, for instance, Liszt, he was much less friendly with Schumann, reserving a lukewarm reception of Carnaval, in which he was the subject of an admittedly indirect musical portrait. Schumann's piece contained daring innovations, which left his contemporaries perplexed. A century later, Debussy presented a respectful tribute to the innovative genius of Chopin.
