Philipp Jekal & Boris Kusnezow at the Meistersaal at Potsdamer Platz

About the Event

'An die ferne Geliebte' by Ludwig van Beethoven is considered the first ever song cycle in music history. Philipp Jekal, baritone from the Deutsche Oper Berlin, chooses famous songs from this cycle for his interesting recital at the Brandenburg Summer Concerts and juxtaposes them with works by Frank Martin and Erwin Schulhoff. Philipp Jekal will be accompanied on the piano by Boris Kusnezow, one of the most sought‐after piano partners of his generation. He performs with outstanding instrumentalists and singers worldwide. His performances have taken him to concert halls such as the Carnegie Hall New York, the Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg, the Kioi Hall Tokyo, the Munich Gasteig and the Berlin Philharmonie.
