Among the most popular sacred works in the repertoire, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater is a charmingly gentle duet for soprano and alto. Taken from the serenata 'Andromeda Liberata', Sovvente il Sole is a rarely‐heard gem by Vivaldi. In keeping with the theme, Haydn's Sixth Symphony, commonly known as La Matina contains a vivid depiction of sunrise.
