On this carnival evening, soprano Fiona McGown and tenor Loïc Félix, accompanied by pianist Flore Merlin, will bring to life the Belle Epoque in Paris. Celebrate carnival with music by Offenbach, Hervé, Lecocq and others at the magnificent Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice.
19th century Paris loved mockery — neither the province nor the better society was safe from jokes. Like a mirror standing in front of its audience, the operetta shows the triumphant bourgeoisie of the business districts and laughs at a society that affirms its puritanism while bypassing its self‐imposed prohibitions.
