Philharmonie de Paris

Paris, France

Created by star architect Jean Nouvel and opened in January of 2015, the Philharmonie de Paris is a truly innovative facility. The structure organic, crystaline shape rises up from the Parc de la Villette like a mountain.

The symphonic hall, known as the Grande Salle, is a remarkable architectural accomplishment. Though it seats 2400 people, the Philharmonie auditorium feels remarkably intimate. The distance between the conductor and the farthest spectator is only 32 meters.

The hall is also equipped with a Rieger organ, which is 15 meters high and 20 meters wide, specially designed for the symphonic repertory.
