Orfeó Català Sings 'Considering Matthew Shepard': Palau de la Música Catalana

About the Event

The Orfeó Català and his family of choirs inaugurate this season with the European premiere of the choral work of Hella Johnson 'Considering Matthew Shepard', conceived as a three‐part passion.

In October of 1998, Matthew Shepard -- a young, gay student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie -- was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die alone in a field. Approaching the eve of the 20th anniversary, Craig Hella Johnson has responded with his work 'Considering Matthew Shepard'.
