Olli Mustonen & Münchener Kammerorchester: Beethoven & Mendelssohn at Dresden Music Festival

About the Event

As early as 1807 Beethoven himself began to work on his famous violin concerto for piano. In print this appeared already a quarter of a year after the 'original'. This piano version is the focus of the program, which pianist, composer and conductor Olli Mustonen and the Munich Chamber Orchestra will present to the public in the Frauenkirche. In addition, »Triptyykki« (»Triptych«) is the work of the versatile Finn himself, who originally wrote it for three cellos a cappella. The concert concludes with Mendelssohn's 'Scottish' — a symphony that, although more than 12 years old, was written after a Scottish trip by the young composer who inspired him to write several of his most successful works.
