My Friend Bunbury at Oper Leipzig

About the Event

Musical in seven scenes | Book by Helmut Bez and Jürgen Degenhardt, freely adapted from Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest (1895) | Playing time ca. 2 3/4 hours | One intermission

Bunbury truly is the best of friends! He’s always right there in a dicey situation, discerning and trustworthy to the very end. In fact, he’s exactly what the dandy Algernon Moncrieff needs to get through life. Whenever Moncrieff finds himself in a pickle, he conveniently gets a call from his poor, sick friend. But Bunbury is only a fabrication …or is he?
