About the Event

Explore the work of one of today's leading musicians clarinettist, composer, and conductor, Jörg Widmann excels in all three spheres. Leading the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya and the choir of the Orfeó Català, Widmann premieres a new choral work, and conducts Mozart's 'Jupiter' Symphony in the beautiful hall of the Palau de la Musica.

Widmann's work is often inspired by the masters of the past, and the program celebrates the link between past and present with the Beethoven‐inspired overture Con brio. Carolin Widmann, the composer's sister and a celebrated violinist, plays Widmann's Second Violin Concerto to complete the program.
