About the Event

The Mozart Dinner Concert combines high quality orchestral and operatic music with a delicious three-course meal, all served in a candlelit neo-baroque, historically protected ballroom which is not normally open to public.

Candle Light Concert with Opera Singers from National Theatre in Prague
The ensemble Amadeus Prague is composed of two singers from National Theatre and five instrumentalists from the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists who perform their concerts dressed in period costumes. The programme features the most famous arias and duets from the operas 'Don Giovanni“ (world premiere at Prague Estates Theater), 'The Marriage of Figaro“ and 'The Magic Flute“.

Historical Boccaccio Ballroom in Old Town in Mozart´s Period Atmosphere
The historically protected Boccaccio ballroom is of breath-taking beauty and a masterpiece of artificial marble, gold and crystal glass. It is located in the very heart of the Old Town quarter of Prague in the luxurious 5 star hotel Grand Hotel Bohemia.The historical ballroom provides an appropriate stylistic setting for the three unique experiences in one evening.

Culinary Delight of a Three-Course Dinner
The three-course dinner will be served in the breaks between the musical blocks. The menu represents modern cuisine inspired by recipes from the 18th century and is prepared by prestigious chef Pavel Jirku.

Is there a dress code?
Smart casual dress code is recommended. In case of New Year’s Eve performances the dress code is a black tie.

Is the event suitable for children?
Yes, it is suitable for children from the age of 6 with an exception of exclusive balcony boxes where children from the age of 2 can be seated. It is also possible to park a stroller in there.

Artists

  • Amadeus Prague Ensemble (Ensemble)
    The Amadeus Prague Ensemble consists of five instrumentalists from the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists who perform in period costumes.
  • Svarcova, Terezie (Soprano)
    Soprano Terezie Švarcová graduated from the Prague Conservatory and underwent private studies in Italy. She won several competitions and has been a soloist singer in the theatre performing in roles like Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Susanna in The Bat.
  • Kopperová, Gabriela (Soprano)
    Soprano Gabriela Kopperová studied at the Prague Conservatory and graduated from the Music Faculty of Prague's Academy of Performing Arts. In the course of her career she performed in several operas and is currently involved with the F.X. Šaldy Theatre in Liberec.
  • Klánský, Daniel (Baritone)
    Daniel Klánský is an accomplished young Czech baritone who has won a number of awards, culminating in the Czech Radio Prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Competition.
  • Kůstková, Kristýna (Soprano)
    Soprano Kristýna Kůstková performs on stages in Italy and the Czech Republic. She performed as Esmeralda in The Bartered Bride and also in several other roles.
  • Hnyk, Jan (Baritone)
    Jan Hnyk studied solo opera singing at the Prague conservatory. Since 2011 he acts as host soloist at the J. K. Tyl theatre in Plzeň – G. Puccini, opera Gianni Schicchi – a role of Maestro Spineloccio, W. A. Mozart, opera Don Giovanni – a role of Massetto, opera Faust and Margarita – a role of Wagner. He also performs as Kaspar in Der Freischütz by C.M. von Weber. Jan newly signed a contract in La Scala. He founded the band Three Drunk Baboons, from which todays Jonny’s Blues Band originated and which clubs at home and abroad host. He graduated from the jazz workshops in Eisenach and festival in Hannover.
