Monteverdi's The Return of Ulysses to his Homeland: Monteverdi Choir & the English Baroque Soloists

About the Event

John Eliot Gardiner continues his exploration of Monteverdi's operatic works with The Return of Ulysses to his Homeland, performed by the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists.

This series of concerts offers the chance to discover -- or rediscover -- Monteverdi's compositions in celebration of the 450th anniversary of the composer's birth. The Return of Ulysses to his Homeland (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria) blends tragedy and comedy to tell the story of an extraordinary voyage, as well as to conjure the essential themes of human life.
