About the Event
Follow Orpheus in his immortal quest to rescue his beloved from the clutches of death. Jean Tubéry leads Ensemble La Fenice and an accomplished cast in a concert performance of Monteverdi's masterpiece.
Written in 1607, L'Orfeo represents a turning point where the Renaissance and the early Italian Baroque meet. Monteverdi unifies these two universes of sound in a marvellous equilibrium.
