Pianist Nikolaï Lugansky has intimate knowledge of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, which he recorded in 2004 and 2006. At the helm of the Russian National Orchestra, Mikhaïl Pletnev revives a rarely heard work by Alexander Scriabin, his Symphony No 2, which was created in 1902 in Saint Petersburg.
