Merce Cunningham & William Forsythe: Paris Opera Ballet

About the Event

Look closer at the American school of dance, when the Paris Opera Ballet takes three new pieces into its repertoire, two by William Forsythe and one by Merce Cunningham.

The program begins with Cunningham's 1968 choreography, "Walkaround Time", with sets inspired by Marcel Duchamp and costumes based on designs by Jasper Johns. The two works by Forsythe, both from the late 1990s, push the limits of the genre of classical ballet.
