Mater Dolorosa: Women at the Tomb

About the Event

The vocal ensemble Mora Vocis offers a concert dedicated to the women known as "the Mourners" of the Passion of Christ, conjured through a selection of medieval works from the 12th and 13th centuries, as well as contemporary pieces.

The five singers bring together medieval repertoire with contemporary compositions by Caroline Marçot and Ivan Moody. With their voices, the singers embody different roles and sometimes join voices to create "sound pictures". The singers' movement on stage was inspired by geobiology and sacred geometry.
