Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini at Teatro Filarmonico
About the Event
Experience opera like never before in this astonishing performance of masterworks by Puccini at Verona's remarkable Teatro Filarmonico.
Puccini wrote his opera after seeing a performance of the one‐act play 'Madame Butterfly' in 1900. The tragic story of the love between a Japanese girl and an American sailor became the passionate and evocative three‐act opera that premiered at Milan’s La Scala Opera Theatre in 1904. Puccini researched Japanese music and the librettist even travelled to Japan to get a feeling for the culture.
