Léon, Lightfoot / van Manen: Paris Opera

About the Event

Despite their highly individual artistic universes, these three choreographers from the Nederlands Dans Theater share the same musicality and the same aesthetic quest.

A duet with clear, pure lines, Hans van Manen’s Trois Gnossiennes adopts the sonorities of Erik Satie’s score of the same name. First‐time guests Paul Lightfoot and Sol León bring two pieces into the Paris Opera Ballet repertoire alternating fixed poses, rapidity of movement and theatrical devices.

The program was fabulous. The "Trois Gnossiennes" were especially beautiful and the dancers and pianist performed as one voice.
