Debargue became a musical sensation in 2015 during the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition. Having started to learn the piano at the age of 11, he later ceased playing altogether for several years, and came back to the piano at 20, when he also started his proper musical training. Now 26 years old, he is one of the most talented and promising pianist of his generation.
