About the Event

Chief Conductor Vladimir Jurowski leads the London Philharmonic Orchestra in a thoroughly Romantic program at Madrid's Auditorio Nacional.

Adolfo Gutiérrez is the soloist for Dvořák's Cello Concerto in B minor, one of the best known and most beloved works by the composer.

Mahler's Symphony No. 4 is based on the song, "Das himmlische Leben" ("The Heavenly Life"), which is sung in its entirety in the fourth movement. Soprano Sofia Fomina joins the orchestra for this heavenly ending to the program.
