Lobgesang: Oper Leipzig Ballet
About the Event
With his ballet, "Lobgesang", choreographer Mario Schröder continues the successful cooperation between the Oper Leipzig Ballet Company and the Oper Leipzig Chorus.
Mendelssohn's "Lobgesang" had its premiere in Leipzig in 1840. The symphony‐cantata is a celebration of the triumph of light against darkness, and for this ballet, Mario Schröder has juxtaposed it with Poulenc's choral masterpiece, "Figure humaine".
