Le Encantadas: Olga Neuwirth, Ensemble Intercontemporain

About the Event

Witness the French premiere of Olga Neuwirth's new work. Following her 2012 success with an opera based on Herman Melville, Neuwirth returns to the author's writing — this time his exploration of the Galapagos Islands — for inspiration.

Drawing on the technology now available, Neuwirth has attempted, in collaboration with Gilbert Nouno of IRCAM, to recreate the acoustic in which Luigi Nono's Prometeo was created, at San Lorenzo. Matthias Pintscher conducts this premiere.
