Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Valčuha, Apkalna: Nicolai, Jongen, Beethoven

About the Event

The Konzerthausorchester Berlin is going on a tour through the Baltic capitals of Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn with its first guest conductor Juraj Valčuha and the Latvian organist Iveta Apkalna. Before that, the Berlin audience will have the opportunity to listen to the works that will accompany them on their travels.

The overture to Otto Nicolai's comic and magical opera 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' will open the evening. Afterwards, you can hear the 'Sinfonia Concertante for organ and orchestra' by Joseph Jongen with the 'Queen of Instruments' that soloist Iveta Apkalna masters to the fullest. Ludwig van Beethoven's famous Third will conclude the evening.
