Konzerthausorchester Berlin & Iván Fischer:The Magic Flute

About the Event

Mozart's "The Magic Flute" has been popular ever since its premiere in Vienna in 1791. It was the composer's last opera, as he died in December of that same year, and was apparently dear to his heart as the story is told that he requested his friends to play songs from the opera while on his deathbed.

Featuring many beloved pieces, such as the duet "Pa Pa Pa" between Papagena and Papageno, as well as arias that reach the highest notes possible sung by the "Coloratura soprano" as the Queen of the Night, this opera is a true classic.
