American mezzo‐soprano Kate Lindsey performs of excerpts from Joseph Canteloube's 'Chants d'Auvergne', with the Orchestre de Paris under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock.

The 'Chants d'Auvergne' are a touching and romantic homage of Joseph Canteloube to his native region. Based on folk melodies, the pieces bring to mind the bucolic and peaceful landscapes of the Auvergne in France. Nature is also at the center of Ravel's 'Daphnis et Chloé', Suite No. 2. His orchestration of Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' will close the evening.
