Il Segreto di Susanna — Suor Angelica at Teatro Filarmonico
About the Event
Be charmed and devastated in turn by two one‐act works from the early years of the 20th Century at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona.
Enrico Wolf‐Ferrari's cheerfully light‐hearted comedy 'Susanna's Secret' is a forerunner of the gentle romantic comedies of Hollywood's Golden Age. Puccini's 'Sister Angelica', on the other hand, though its score is suitably luscious, has not an ounce of frivolity about it. A heartrending story of loss and family betrayal, the central role in this all‐female opera is one of Puccini's greatest for the soprano voice.
