About the Event
Surrender to the darkness of political intrigue and personal vendetta in this concert performance of Verdi's Venetian tale, based on a play by Byron. Placido Domingo sings the Doge of Venice, joined by Spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta and rising star Michael Fabiano.
Hinting at many discoveries that would feature strongly in his later works, Verdi's use of new orchestral colors, and individual themes for central characters, creates a world of 'musical masks' in a city where Carnival is more than just a game.
