House Concert: Mahler, Mozart, Brahms
About the Event
The violist Nils Mönkemeyer and three other musicians play two 'classics' by Mozart and Brahms as well as a rarity by Mahler in this house concert.
At the age of 16, Gustav Mahler wrote his only contribution to the genre of instrumental chamber music in the form of a single movement for piano quartet. Subsequently, Mozart's piano quartet in G minor will be heard. Brahms' third and last piano quartet represented a kind of counterpart to the first symphony for the composer.
