The Orchestra Sinfonica Città di Roma's Soloist offer you a moving performance of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater to celebrate Easter in the magical St. Paul's Within the Wall in rome.
In his tragically short life, Giovan Battista Pergolesi wrote intensely for the theatre and the church. The Stabat Mater is definitely a master work, scored in simplicity for Soprano, Mezzosoprano and strings. Every number, Aria or Duet, displays a deep religious intensity and passion, combined with the finest Italian late baroque taste for melodic invention.
