Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Ott, Rouvali: Nelson, Grieg, Sibelius

About the Event

The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra comes to the Philharmonie with its new chief conductor, the Finn Santtu‐Matias Rouvali and the famous pianist Alice Sara Ott.

The programme pays homage to Scandinavia: the Swedish‐American composer Daniel Nelson wrote the opening piece 'Steampunk Blizzard' in 2017. Together with Alice Sara Ott, one of the most fascinating pianists of her generation, the orchestra will perform Grieg's Piano Concerto and finally Sibelius' 5th Symphony, one of the Finnish composer's most important works in his 'Search for the Perfect Sound'.
