Gondola Serenade & Vivaldi's Four Seasons in Venice

About the Event

Enjoy a romantic gondola serenade through the Venetian canals with music and traditional Italian songs.

Together with a maximum of 6 passengers you will explore Venice in a gondola from the water, along the Canal Grande and the inner canals. An original gondolier in a characteristic striped shirt will delight your ear with entertaining and romantic traditional Italian songs.

After the gondola ride you will hear Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' in a unique concert in a beautiful church. The church of San Vidal is undoubtedly a must‐see during your visit to Venice. This historic and cultural place has been hosting first class concerts for 30 years.

The Four Seasons is a group of four violin concertos written by Italian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi in 1721. Each concerto represents the musical expression of a season of the year — probably the sounds Vivaldi experienced in the countryside of Mantua. Each concerto is paired with a sonnet‐form text, authorship of which is often ascribed to Vivaldi also, making 'The Four Seasons' one of the earliest examples of program music.
