Eliogabalo: Paris Opera

About the Event

Cavalli's rarely performed opera, "Eliogabalo", comes to the Paris Opera in a production that sheds light on the contradictions and ambiguities of the title character.

Cavalli's last opera tells the story of a young emperor who rode in the face of social norms, favoring sensual pleasures above matters of state.

Director Thomas Jolly and conductor Leonardo García Alarcón offer their first production for the Paris Opera, with Franco Fagioli in the title role.

In Italian, with French and English surtitles.
