Elektra at Oper Leipzig

About the Event

Elektra and Orestes have dedicated themselves to seeking revenge for their father's death. Agammemnon was beaten to death by his wife Klytämnestra in the bathroom after returning home because she could not forgive him for the sacrifice of his daughter Iphigenia. In these times of war and human sacrifice, the betrayal and murder of relatives continues to produce new blood feuds.

Elektra by Richard Strauss is both a great mythical drama and a family tragedy. Music with a unique orchestral apparatus develops an overwhelming appeal through its intoxicating expressiveness.
